Learning about the gruop and the group project

Since I began working on the collaboration project I discovered a few things. I discovered how imporatnt it is to establish great communication amoung your members. I was absent the day the teams were picked for the project. Melissa emailed me later on to inform me that I was part of the group Pierre and she were in. i thought that was a classy move on her part because it got the ball rolling on the type of people I am working with, and that is key. I also discovered that we bring certain talents to the gruop that will allow the presentation to go smoothly. Melissa is the computer wizard of the gruop, Pierre likes the nuts and bolts o fthe presentation and I am all about the structure and flow of it.

What I didn't know about writing emails, memos and letters that I know now is that language is key. The language in these documents can create a smooth flow of information through the chain of command, or cause utter confusion among the masses. I believe that the most important part of these documents is the author.

  1. You are definitely lucky to be working in a group that is working well together. Being absent on day one can definitely put you behind but it is nice to see that your group made sure to include you so that you would all be on the same page. Technical documents can definitely be difficult for the reader if the language is not correct or appropriate. Good focus on such an important element on technical writing.

  2. You do a great job Pernell of pointing out what the role is of each group member, Groups work well when everyone knows their role.
